Here is Tahki New Tweed in a discontinued color at half price. Do you think that yellow color is nice? I'm not sure if it is or not.
CITRUS YOKE
I can't find the same yarn online for this one. But here is one options maybe. It says the weight for the recommended yarn is 50g/63 yd, which I'm guessing is how you pick a comparable yarn?

Here is a 100% wool one at 50g/65 yd

To pick a substitute yarn, I would look at the gauge of the project (stitches per inch) and find a yarn that matches that. The Takhi yarn's recommended gauge is 4 sts/inch, so that's 16 sts/4 inches. The Citrus Yoke is 13 1/2 sts per 4 inches, so that's a bit different. However, it may be fine to knit the Takhi yarn a little bit looser. It looks like a nice yarn.
Sorry, I wasn't talking about the Takhi yarn, but about the Classic Elite Bazic. Nice color choices too.
wait so that's what I don't understand. 13 1/2 per 4 on 10.5 needles. But this yarn is 16 per 4 on 9 inch needles. So if you used 10 1/2 needles would that make it work out to 13 1/2 x 4?
What size needles you use is totally personal. The size given is just a suggestion. Me, I tend to knit very loosely; I usually have to use needles one or even two sizes smaller than the suggested ones to get the corresponding gauge. The needle size doesn't matter ONE SINGLE BIT as long as you're getting the gauge you want. The bigger needles you use, the fewer stitches you're going to get per inch, but what exact sizes you use is up to you.
The important difference here is that the yarn company suggests a gauge of 16 stitches per 4 inches, and we want to knit a pattern with 13.5 stitches per 4 inches. That means that our sweater will turn out a little bit looser (more open) than the suggested gauge. That is fine as long as it is not TOO loose and full of holes. It's hard to tell without knitting a swatch.
